I am trying to make some icons customization on XP and I would like to know if somebody could help me with 2 things:

1) Is there anyway to change the damn and ugly Microsoft (word,excel,access,etc...) icons on the start panel?

2) How can I change file types icons, not just the ones on IconPack?

Go to the program file directory i.e. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10 and make shortcut links there to the desired applications. Then you can change the icons by right clicking and go to proprties/change icon. After you have completed changing the shortcut icons just right click each one and select "pin to start menu"....voila!

Right clicking on the office icons or any other icon of start menu, from their properties you can change any icon. I guess this is more simple
